We launched Scriptorum Ltd in 2007 initially in response to the growing need for law practices of all sizes to work more flexibly and cost effectively following significant sector reform. Now with the even greater impact of the Jackson Reforms we can provide an unsurpassed business service.
Having experience in the legal industry, we knew that to succeed we needed to match our working hours to those of the legal profession, and provide an uncompromising level of quality and efficiency.
Seven years on and we provide outsourced typing and transcription services to solicitors’ firms and legal service providers of all sizes across the UK.

At Scriptorum we work to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible by running an entirely paperless business, making full use of the internet, teleconferencing and remote working, and travelling only when absolutely necessary.

* Guaranteed turn-around times exclude time after 7.00pm or before 8.00am on weekdays, and all day Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. If we receive an Urgent transcription request within normal office hours we will return it the same day. For non-account customers we issue a request for immediate payment utilising the PayPal system which can be settled by PayPal or most Credit or Debit cards. You do not need a PayPal account.
Scribe is a tailored digital legal typing and transcription service. It recognises that you need some documents more urgently than others. All our typists are based in the UK.

START USING OUR SERVICE
Register to use our service – it only takes a minute and you only have to do it once
Make your audio recording on your preferred recording device (e.g. computer, smart phone, tablet, or audio recorder).
Ensure that the file is no larger than 5Mb when you are making the recording. (If it is, split it into two or more recordings and name them accordingly).
Speak clearly and at a reasonable speed so that our typists can give you the most accurate transcription possible. This is especially important if you are dictating a highly technical document.

Multiple Voice Transcriptions
For transcription of a multiple voice recording (meeting, telephone conversation or similar), ensure each participant speaks clearly and states their name prior to speaking.
- Indicate if your work is urgent in the subject or body of the email
- Include any additional instructions in your email
- Supply any templates you need used in the same email
We will allocate your dictation to one of our UK-based legal typists, and it will be emailed back to you as a Word document when it is completed. If there are any unclear words, phrases or other concerns, our typist will highlight these for you to check and amend.
Confirming we have your file
We will send you an email to confirm we have received your file. Please remember that email is not a foolproof service – if you do not receive a receipt email, check with the Scriptorum office that your audio file has arrived.
